Do any folks on this list ride in the North GA mountains (i.e. Dahlonega/Jasper area)?

I'm interested in checking out some new routes (I've done 3-gap, 4-gap, burnt mtn, their must be other good routes).

Also, I'd like to find some folks to ride with, that kind of thing. I haven't been riding that long, and am definitely not a NickyH (maybe I could keep up w/his grandmother), but I've been able to hang with guys on rides w/o any problems so far.

n ga mts

I live on the nw side of Atl, just east of Woodstock off of hwy 92.

The book looks good, thanks.

Do you know of some groups/folks (yourself?) around here that don't ride like total idiots? Passing on double yellow, speeding, etc. is fine, as long as it's safe. Injury/death/jailtime/driving into the woods just aren't up my alley. I've heard that there are some groups in the Atlanta area that are like that.

anytime that you want to meet up in the mtns or come to Chattanooga to ride let me know. I ride up to Deals Gap and the n GA mtns often. Most of the people I ride with ride smart but I do know that there are a few wild bunches in the Atlanta area.

You might try http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/georgiasportbike. I've rode with them once and they all ride pretty good.

N. GA Mountains

I am in Anderson SC, used to be in Roswell GA. I am very familiar with the N. GA mountains. I like to spend weekends camped out at Two Wheels Only in Suches, GA an take day ride, 300 mile loops from there also. We should all plan on meeting up there sometime next season.

This sounds like a great idea to me. Maybe even some weekend in early spring when the weather heads up above 50.

Also, my parents live just outside of Salem, SC, which is not very far from Anderson. I imagine the riding is pretty awesome around there. Between Greenville and Asheville, right? Also probably on hwy 130 going up into NC?

Most of that area along the NC,SC, and GA border are good places to ride but the more that you head into NC the better the riding gets!
