anything over 600cc in most places and your screwed the rates are high. Also if your financing you better check with their requirements about deductibles as most of them you cannot have over $500.00 deductilbe. Then the rate even goes up more.

I am in the same situation in b'ham al. on an 05 r6 but my friend also here pays like $60 a month on an 05 r1 through state farm but I'm sure it also has something to do with his homeowners insurance.

$100.77/mo. here for a 600cc... My husband was looking at a 954 initially and w/ progressive it was gonna be in the $300's per month. When the insurance is more than the monthly payment that hurts!

Im 19 and have been quoted at $450 a year for insurance. Thats only liability though. It not your record that is effecting the prices its were you live and the theft insurance that is raising it so much. If you drop the theft I wouldn't be surprised if your cost went down by $1000. My neighbor who rides a cruiser is paying $230 a year for his insurance, again only liability. The other major component is insurance on the bike itself. Sportbikes have a high mark on this as well due to the speeds and the way they are ridden. If your looking to save money, and your bike isn't all that expensive, just drop everything but liability. In florida liability is all thats required.

Good Luck,
