Title a salvage bike

I recently bought a ninja 250 at a junkyard that I have fixed up and am looking to make it street legal. Evidently the laws changed as of Jan 1st so I was wondering about the process here in PA. I'm located at Pittsburgh & Beaver Falls.

Did you pick it up from a salvage shop, or from a private owner? My guess is that some of the local (general SWPA area) salvage shops would have some idea of what is required. I know what it used to take, but your comment that the laws have changed makes me hesitant to respond.

Good luck! I opted to not go with a salvage bike just because I didn't want the hassle.

I got it from a salvage shop and I have the salvage title in hand. I guess I'll give them a call tomorrow and ask them about it some more.

I would assume that you have to head to your local Sheriff's/DMV station that does inspections. As long as everything is back to stock or at least looks like it, I think you should be good to go. Granted I think you may have to send in some paper work to the state to apply for a title that you can register. At least I think it's something like that.

there's hope in the words and emotion in the eyes
it's so easy to be misled by the savvy gentle guise
and like fools we trust the delivery
but it's all just drunk sincerity
