Looking for a bike...

I'm a new rider, looking for a bike.

I don't have many requirements, other than being a Japanese bike, hopefully a bit newer (2000+ with under 10k miles), and cool looking (I know, I know, vain).

Obviously, I'm tempted (oh so tempted) to head to the dealer and pick up a new R6, or try and get a GSXR600 as my first bike.

I know that's not the smartest thing in the world, but I'm curious as to what's out there.

This is my first bike. I expect that I'll lay it down a few times

I have been mountain biking for more than 1/2 of my life, and I have been riding bikes since I could walk. I've got pretty good balance and coordination with braking and such.

So, what's out there? I live in Maryland (montgomery county) and am looking to buy in a few weeks or so.

What do you guys have in the area for sale?

Thank you!

Where is that thread? I didn't see it, even searching for that name you posted.
