Dumfries.

But nobody knows where that is, so imagine a spot between Quantico and Woodbridge.

I'm new to Virginia. Just moved here (Newport News) middle of January. I don't ride yet, but I have the MSF coming up in May and look to get a bike and ride shortly thereafter.

If any of you guys or gals know of a good place to look for used bikes, let me know. (ESP Ninja 500).

First of all, welcome to the area, lots of good areas to ride around here. I am on the southside (as we call it) in the Norfolk/ Virginia Beach area, and that is where I do most of my riding. There are a lot of people up that was though.

As far as used bikes in the area...pick up a Trading Post newspaper or go on E-Bay. Most of the dealerships in the area will screw you in a heartbeat. Definatly stay away from Casey Cycle City and Sunrise Cycles, both are known to fuck ya. Of course if you buy used, take someone with you that knows bikes, and always know the value before you buy it...www.kbb.com and www.nada.com should be able to help.

Also as far a locals go, you can also check out Cycle Forums in the Virginia section. Both the Coast Riders and Team Precision are local to the Hampton Roads area (where you now live, goes from Hampton/ Newport News areas to the Norfolk, Virginia Beach areas)...don't worry, it will get more confusing the longer you are here! The IBP forum is also local boys, but it is mostly dead now since they kicked a few of them off the forums!! They actually hang out in a stunt spot in Hampton...been there a couple times.

ZX636skiv:

Thanks for referring me to the other site. Thus far, I have found 2 bikes I'm very interested in.

Depending on how things go on Friday, I should own either a 2003 Ninja 250 or a 1999 Ninja 500.

Thanks again!
