Thumbs up Ride around the beltway for American Red Cross

This is neat!

Just got an e-mail from a friend, it states:

The Harley Store on route 40 is having a "ride around the beltway" on Sunday, 9/23. I understand that it will be police escorted. They are asking for a $10 donation, check payable to the American Red Cross. Registration is from 8:00 - 11:00 on Sunday morning and the ride begins at noon.

I will be there, pass the word!

Around the Capital Beltway? I need more info - where, when?! (Not that I can get a day off from work in the next few weeks, but I can make it if I don't need to sleep that day...)

No riding for me this weekend. Family thing on Sunday, so I can't make it. Dammit.

Kathy,

I'll be there. Meeting up with a co-worker that rides a Harley. We should get there around 9 or so.

Hey there Rain_maker, Good to hear you will be there. Husband and I will be there with another couple. We are leaving our house about 10:30 and should arrive at the store around 11:00 or so. We will be meeting up with the other couple around Mountain Road and head down. Come find me, I will be looking for you!

Sorry to hear inamina will not make it this weekend.

Talking Riding around the beltway for American Red Cross

Hi there, The ride on Sunday was great I thought! The ride to the Spirit of the Flag, all donations went to the American Red Cross. About 5 to 6 thousand motorcycles showed up for the ride donating about $50,000, I have not heard the official count. The ride was about 50 miles around the 695 Baltimore beltway. On the overpasses, there were people waving American flags and holding signs. It sure gave me a good feeling. At one overpass, a fire truck had its ladder extended over the beltway and on the end was an American flag. That one exit I thought had the most people. There was one accident that I saw, could have been more, I just have not heard about them. Rain-maker said he was going the be there, he may know more!

Rain_maker did you make it? Which parking lot were you in? I was in the ToysRUs parking lot. We got there about 11:00. So many bikes, everything showed up.

Are American flags available to purchase at the stores where you live? They are out of stock everywhere around here.

Hey Kathy,

I was in the Harley Parking lot, and when you register, they put the US flag sticker on your headlight. They where selling a lot flags there, had Free donuts, and also a nice airconditioned show room. We got there about 9:30 or 10:00. Only about 5 or so sports bike in that parking lot, though There was also a drawing for a T.V. from some radio staion.

Met a state trooper there, that rode a Suzuki Bandit, and he was telling me how to increase the horsepower of my bike. That was odd....but refreshing to hear....hopefully this is the guy that stops me when I'm using that extra horsepower

I was amazed at how may came. It was a neat experience.

Rain_maker, you probably met Earl. I met him on the Maximum-Suzuki website forums, and we rode to the DelMarVa bike week thing a few weeks ago. Great guy. Check out the Open Road forums on maximum-suzuki.com. We're planning some riding in northern MD and southeast PA in the next month or so.

hey Kathy, I have the same bike and I am looking for an exhaust. Erion is one of my finalist along with Two Brothers, D+D, M4, and Yosh. Can you give me a little feed back about your pipe? Is it full exhaust or slip on? Did you have to jet? What about K&N air filter? Let me know how it sounds too.
