I agree with Cliff about Mikes bike. The pic does not do it justice. I could have eaten a hammy samich off that thing!

Mike, do you store your bike in your living room all the time? I only ask as I am thinking of doing it this winter! I live on the ground floor condo and it would make it easier for me to work on the bike, but I don't want to f-up the floor, carpets, etc.

Had a good time riding with you all. Mike, you missed some maddness. We really got rolling on the southbound trip out of York.

Cool Maryland Gathering Places

Are there any places in Maryland where sportbike riders gather on Sunday? Anyone interested in starting one? It seems the cruiser folks do a lot more together than us(shame). Maybe we should organize rides and events for charity.(I know a cause or two) The only two events around here that I see sportbikes at is the open house at Bob's BMW and the Ride for Kids at the Columbia Mall, both are a good time.

Ride Safe.

I don't know of anyplace that the sportbikes or other 2 wheeler gather! I go to Ephrata on the first Sunday of the month and drool, wishing it was closer than it is.

We participated in the March of Dimes Ride from Jones Junction in Bel Air and went 50 miles through Harford County, Delta, PA and then back into Bel Air. That was a good time, although 80% harley. Good to see the sportbikes show up!

Would you be interested in going to Ephrata, PA? We could meet somewhere and ride up together.

Steve98yzf,

The Summit-Point link I sent you can get you into the WERA and CCS websites that have information on what you would need to do to your bike to pass tech inspections. You can also access information on training schools like Jerry Wood's Penguin Racing which is a great way to get some initial track time and get you started. Plus you can use thier bikes.

Elcidbob,

Thanks for the complements. I worked on my bike in my living room this winter and got used to looking at it. But seeing as I live on the third floor and had to sneak the bike into the elevator and past the security gaurds at midnight, the bike remains in the garage for now. To protect my floors, I placed a plastic drop cloth on the floor as a fluid barrier then put a heavy canvas drop cloth on top. Then I had the bike up on a bike lift which brought it up to a comfortable working level. Compared to working in a cold garage in winter, I'll take the comfort of a warm, well lit living room with easy access to the fridge and an unobstructed view of the TV anytime. IF I decide to take it off the road this winter (HMMMM.. maybe some new cams), It will be back in the living room for sure.

Thunderheart, Kathy,

I would be very interested in a Sunday gathering and Ephrata but I'm heading for New England this weekend so I won't be riding. However, if either of you are interested in Rockville this Thursday night I'm going to head down and Elcidbob said he is going too. I'm heading down from the Inner Harbor area so if you want to meet up let me know.
