Question Introducing....Cheekz ( A New MI Rider - Help!!)

My name is Cheekz and I am a new rider that has riden just enough to have a motorcycle endorsement on my license. I took a four day class and have not riden ouside of a parking lot.

My goal is to become a member of Redline Superbike, cruise through Royal Oak on Thursdays, and ultimately learn how to ride safely and ENJOY RIDING.

I don't know anyone that rides, so I am here asking for some suggestions on the best way to obtain my goal.

Thank you in advance for all your help.

Welcome to SBW! (<- standard greeting)

Stick around, read as much as you can, ask as many questions as you can think of and listen to the answers.

Don't panic. Taking the course was a great step. From the parking lot, you could start to venture out onto quiet streets until you're more familiar with the controls. Just take it easy and watch out for EVERYONE.

Are you geared-up?

In God, we trust; all others must provide data.

Get to know people, find someone in your area and find places to ride that don't have tons of traffic! Make sure you have all necessary gear to protect yourself and the biggest part of learning is becoming confident on the bike. Getting to know it in the parking lot is a really great way to get a feel for the bike and getting to know it, but when you get on the streets with all of the distracted cagers, it is a whole new world. Welcome aboard, when and where do you plan to ride? Do you have friends that ride also?
