Check out J&J Motors down in Massillon. They sell all 4 Jap brands new and have a huge building filled with used bikes. I bought off them while I lived in Ohio. They had the best deals anywhere in the Cleveland area.

PCS me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try cleveland-akron honda. They are at 271 and broadway (1 exit south of 480). They have the jap brands, and KTM, Ducati, MotoGuzzi, BMW and Triumph. I bought my last bike off them and have had good experience with them since. Check them out at:

I'll never get over Macho Grande

Thanks for the info guys. I ended up placing an order from Honda East anyways. The were a couple hundered cheaper than J&J and both are about the same distance since i live on the western side of Cleveland. Cleveland Akron Honda doesn't sell Yamaha"s and I had a very bad experiance with them when I bought my Ducati off of them. They don't deal any on prices at all either. J&J and Honda East don't charge assembly and freight and are hundreds off list prices.
Thanks.. Erich

Erich, yes - I found C.A.H. to be a quite pricey and they were kind of insulting to me when I went to check out the 999 there recently. What was your bad Ducati experience with them? The reason I'm asking is that I'd heard that their Ducati mechanic is one of the best around so I want to keep them in mind for service stuff I cannot do myself..

BTW, which Ducati did you have and what Yamaha have you ordered now?

Cheers, Bill (BamBam)

Erich-

If you're on the westside, then stay the hell away from Kennedy's in Elyria. They're probably the closest Yamaha shop to you (or Jerry Ferrell's in Medina is). Kennedy's are freaking highway robbers.

BamBam, I had a 2001 Monster 750 that I had bought off of Cleveland Akron Honda new. The trans went bad with less than a thousand miles on it and I hadn't even had the bike a month. The told me they don't pick up bikes and made me drop it off. When I did drop it of they were really accusitory and also asked if I had an appointment. The didn't even look at the bike for a few weeks saying the had sold new bikes to get ready (they allready had my money.) When I did get it back over a month later it left me stranded less than six miles later. Something with the clutch hydralics. I rode it for anther month before putting it a way for winter. The next May with 3000 miles on it the trans did the exactly the same thing. Luckely Ohio has some of the best lemon laws out there and that it had happened within the first year of ownership and I eventually got all my money back from Ducati.
As much as I loved that bike, no more ducs for me. After riding a few friends bikes i am tring an r6

Wow. If that had been my experience I'd be seriously OFF Ducatis also... sorry it went like that for you. I'm glad you outlined your problems though - now I know to think carefully before taking my baby there...
I'm trying to do as much of the maintenance myself as I can but there are a few items I'm not equipped for.. Maybe I'll just find a good quality general bike mechanic and forget the Ducati specialists.. hmmm

Glad Ducati refunded your money!!

Cheers, Bill (BamBam)

Yah, ducs are beautiful bikes and i love the way they run and nothing sounds better. I had hoped to upgrade to a 748 but I'll definately have trouble bring myself to get another. It took a little while to get Ducati to cough up the dough, but they did. Didn't even have to get a lawer ( a friend's wife that does lemon law work says it probably would have taken longer if I had to have gone that route.)

I dealt with AK/Cleve and was happy when my my buddy was a service writer. Now that he has left only been there one time since. I had a electrical problem and the bike would shut off. They trailed it from my place in Akron up to there. Not sure why they wouldn't offer the same deal. This was even after my buddy left.

As far as prices, I think they are high. No complaints about the service dept. If Brandon still works there he has always treated me good.

I went to Midwest from time to time but only bought one bike from them. They seem to have fair pricing on most of the jap bikes, but won't budge when it comes to their Duc section.

Now that State8 sells Hondas I'll probably being using them from now on. I have had several friends buy bikes from them in the last two years. No real complaints from any of them. Most of the time if you buy a bike you can get a discount on a new helmet. You just got to remember to ask for it. I was in there today looking at a Mille. Aprillias have some great rebates right now and they have 2 Milles, a Turono (sp?) and a Falco in the showroom. I wish I had some money
