Went with full coverage/500$deductible plus uninsured motorist also. after my crash(zx9) my ins.co. pd out 6400$ to fix it . rate went up 14$ per mo. glad I have full coverage!!The credit union requires it .right now I am ahead of the game..but another claim and the picture could change quickly ..like being canceled/dropped

Trackbike only. No Insurance.

(I might get another bike so I can ride on the street again next summer).

I got liability only. Well, comparitively my bike isnt worth that much either and at 21 insurance companies seem to be rather certain im going to wad it. I pay 350 a year for liability, but full coverage was something in the vicinity of 1400. Not to mention I've kinda had the feeling that after you make a big claim you prolly end up paying for it in the long run anyway with the raised rates.

It does make me nervous though, and if I really could afford it without it causing lotsa annoyance I would certainly have full coverage.

Yes, being young costs money, but some day we will all be old wishing we were young and paying high premiums.

well i sure would like to know how you guys are getting these cheap rates. I realize that I do have 2 speeding tickets, but I have no accidents or claims. I got a 2002 gsxr last year and for comprehensive with 1000 deductable I am paying 1450 a year. for full coverage with a 1000 deductable it was quoted at 7900 pre a year. I just laughed at them.. I have a few quotes for full coverage that were around 5000 but that is still unbelleivable.

I hate to break it to you, but with anything on your record, insurance companies are going to stick it to you. Because you have two tickets, they see you as a higher liability for them. Sucks, huh? The best you can hope for is that they will fall off soon; you'll see a dramatic drop in rates.

I'm in between so I didn't vote. My new bike was $9500 CAD with everything but comprehensive. Which means I have theft and collision coverage but not vandalism. $2100 CAD per year, and no I don't enjoy getting bent over.

My first quote: $9600 per year.

Second quote: $227 per year...........huh? They were only 3 weeks apart and I have a vehicle insured by them now.

But a drop of almost 10G's?
