It's been said...

that NASCAR is to motorcycle road racing what mud wrestling is to ballet.
Hey, I didn't say that!

Maybe Jay Leno would be a good guy to bring this up to? He's got LOTS of money, know's showbiz, and he's a huge bike/car nut.

Hmmmm NASCAR

NASCAR is great entertainment -
First I know all of you have watched a dog run in circles chasing his tail and laughed, so we all know this kind of behavior is real entertainment.
Secondly I have had many a laugh on a boring drive down the freeways of america when I came across a pick up with NASCAR painted across the side or tail gate in big red letters with a paintbrush.
This behavior is not restricted to southern USA either, it has found it's way onto Canadian highways as well.

Oh well NASCAR works on the KISS theory (keep it simple stupid) and seems to make lots of people happy. As long as I get my two wheeled tuesdays I won't be on a war path.
And don't knock gun racks in the truck, you think I am going to put my guns on the floor? I don't think so.

anytime i am watching a show, and it gets interrupted, it bothers me. i don't know if i'd go so far as saying i'd get mad but i don't like it when special news reports interrupt my programming.

NASCAR took off in ratings around the same time that country music became REALLY popular and yuppies started buying pickups (causing the prices to skyrocket which is another subject all together). city folk who dress like idiots, call themselves "Maverick" because they think its cool then go to a country bar to dance but not drink and then get mad because the place has to close becuase it has no income. its all got to do with wishing they had the "down home" mentality. They are Redneck wannabe's. hell, most of them are afraid to go into their backyards at night. or even go camping.

fact: more people drive cages than bikes.
conclusion: more people would rather watch cages than bikes.

Real rednecks don't fake it-i enjoy waching NASCAR just as much as i enjoy watching bike racing (dirt included). my preference is actually to be riding, rather than watching others do it.
