1976 Suzuki RE5?

I didn't know there ever was a rotary motorcycle... I stubled across this on Ebay and was curious if anyone knew anything about it... It looks funny, I wonder how it rides...

re5 wankle dubious pod styling first year(s) excellent frame/suspension for period. odd and complex carbeuration could drive period tech's nuts. single rotor i believe. greatest problem defining displacement. 500 cc chamber swept by three volume crank. mfg 500. compromise 1000. ie 500 high performance, 1000 slow boat. insur etc. water cooled when not much was. sachs built small and very rare wankle at this time. norton uk produced a two rotor air cooled which was used as a police bike in uk, some private sales, norton wanted to race for publicity but ran into displacement controversy, ie 500 was alright as long as it lost. note racers were 750's in 70's. only kaw 900. norton in 80's faced 1000 cc bikes quite well.

yea i had an RX7 and i was gonna go all turboII, but a i got a gsxr and had to get money so i sold the rx. But i still love wankle type engines. Have you guys seen the single rotor engine for rc airplanes? check it out:
