1988 zx-10 fairings on an 1987??

Anyone know if these fairings are compatible. I have pictures of both models and they look identical in shape and mounting points.

Attached is a member of this forum zx10burners 1989 zx-10 and a 1986 zx1000a2.

The only difference i see is the side marker lens. I dont know if that will affect anything or not. The reason im asking is because on ebay a 1988 zx-10 is being parted out CHEAP. Id love to get fairings for $40 intead of $600....

Kawasaki's web site has part numbers listed so you can compare years and if it's the same number you're good.

different colors is usually a prefix like -a -b etc. The primary number should be the same if the panel is, check into it and let me know what you find. Just curious.

1000R vs ZX-10 bodywork

Although somewhat similar in appearance, the bodywork on a 86-87 Ninja 1000R is entirely different than the 88-90 ZX-10. I seriously doubt that it will be compatible.

Man those bike look like new!
Inspireing for me to keep my 03 Busa looking new.
I have BOTH brochures for those bikes from the dealer, man I am glad I kept the brochures from the many years of collecting them and dreaming of those old bikes.

Having owned both bikes at the same time, I can say that the ZX1000R and the ZX10 may look similar but the fairings issue makes them as different as night and day. Case in point: look at the side fairing. The 1000R is shaped like a blunt spearpoint while the 10 actually is molded around the sharp trailing edge of the frame.

It would not be possible to interchange them without it looking like a cobble job.
