I'm riding a '90 in the silver gray color scheme. I've had it for 3 1/2 years and have put 63,000 miles on it. It's been an excellent bike. It turned 60,000 miles on the race track! I have a buddy with the exact same bike but only 14,000 miles on it. I found mine with 950 miles on it, in storage for 8 years, and my buddy's was bought last year with 10,000 miles. Outside of a cam chain, tensioner, and guide shoe, it has not given me any trouble worth mentioning. Those items I replaced last winter at 52,000 miles and probably could have let them go a lot longer. The cam chain was a little noisy on cold starts but quieted down when warm. Later.

Hi guys,

I just bought a clean 1993 model with 14,500 miles. Only other bike was a 1985 VF500 Interceptor. Bought it new in 1985 and sold it in 1988. Its nice to be back with lots of power.

Anything I need to be aware of mechanicaly?

Got this one. Lots of stuff and info. If you need anything email me and we'll see what we can do. I have searched all over for parts and mods and know most everything about this bike.

I posted above at about 60,000 miles on mine. Here it is at 85,000. These were pics from the track photographer.

I had (until last month) an '87 in black and red.

I'd put a V&H Supersport and a Factory Pro jetkit in/on it, and other than replacing fork seals, clutch (unneccesary), cam chain tensioner, and tires, had made no mods to it in 31000 miles.
