Finding parts for a GPZ 550

Alright, I picked up a 84 Kawasaki GPZ 550 a few months back. It needs some work and I've finally got a little bit of money to put into the bike now. I tried searching online, but found very little aftermarket support.

Any good online places to order parts for this bike? Or is there any good catalogues I should check?

I need a set of foot pegs, mirrors and front turn signals. In the distant future, like the end of the summer, I might even be up for some new fairings.

Thanks of course for all the help.

where to find parts

I had an 82 KZ550 that I had modified with a lot of GPZ parts.
Ebay is a place to look daily...you never know who's gonna sell what you need.

I was able to find a set of rearsets from SPEC II in California 818.837.1313

I had a GPZ fairing for a while but the bike is so slow (that's comparing it to the gixxer) I went naked and lowered the headlight. with an aftermarket bracket.

I took the handlebars off and used Woodcraft clip-ons with bar end mirrors. I like the positioning better and I feel the bike handles better set up that way.

The motor is near bullet proof. I bought it new and never rebuilt it and it still is running strong. I sold it last summer to a friend and he's still happy with it. But you might want to give APE (American Performance Engineering) a call and see if you can do a mild overbore...818.842.4952

Have fun with it!

You might also go down a couple of threads and check the ..."I love E-bay"thread as well. There a few links that would interest you in there as well...

Try www.gpz550.com and go to www.kzrider.com. They have a lot of good info on older Kawis. Kawasaki has all the parts microfische online also.
