Stuck oil filter housing on 78 cb750? Help!

I don't know if this is really the place, but I thought someone out there might be familiar with this persnickety bolt on late model cb750 oil filter housings. Any tricks? Mine won't budge and is starting to strip.

Thanks much.

I had the same problem when I bought a used Yamaha Venture. The bolt head completely stripped. I then had to chisel the housing in half, then put a pipe wrench on what was left of the bolt to get it out. Expensive, but it saved having any damage to the engine case.

Would suggest you try a small pipe wrench before giving up. Then, you might be faced with my situation. The good part is you are not at a dead end if that happens.

Thanks Fuster,

yeah, I had been trying to think of what to do, if it came to that... and voila! a pipe wrench would probably do the trick. I hope I can get the thing out, but if it comes down to it...

Thanks again.

You also may have a bit more luck loosening the sucker if you fully warm up the motor before the next go around on that bolt.
