Joe Rocket Mercury Boots

The last piece of equipment I need to get is boots. I cant spend much more than $100 on boots. I want something plain and not to "racy" looking. I was looking at Joe Rocket's Mercury boots for $107. Here is a brief rundown for some of your thoughts if they sound like allright boots (protection and comfort wise):

- Leather construction
- Traditional stepped sole
- Adjustable 360-degree AGS brace and buckle
- Padded ankle area
- Reinforced gearshift and toe pad

After looking at them the toe looks a little to tall to fit under the gear shifter......?

Those are not much more than a work boot. You can get a good pair of CATs for $80 or so. I would get something a little higher up, like mid-calf boots.

Those remind me of some alpinestars boots I got a few months ago. Good sole but not much protection. I wouldn't pay $107 for those.

Thanks, do you have any other suggestions for a boot in the same price range?

What about the Joe Rocket Reactor Boot? They look a little flimsy as well:

- Leather construction
- Reinforced heel
- Ankle and shin protectors
- Gear shift protector
- Reflective trim
