My longest and most memorable (bad) day was from Virginia to Florida on a 1986 GSXR750. We were trying to go straight through to Daytona for Bike week, but I just couldn't make it. Had to stop for the nite just inside Florida. Stayed for bike week, dreading the ride back. Next time, I'll trailer it...

How Far???

The most that I have ridden in one day was 1215miles on a 85' Ninja 900, I was going cross-country to see family in N.J. in the month of October 1988. I was traveling from Las Vegas, NV and stopped in Des Moines, Iowa for a break. Day 2 I went from there to Dayton, Ohio to visit a friend, stayed the weekend. And then on too Highbridge, N.J. a total of 2600 oneway miles. It wasnt to bad of a trip but it sure did get cold at nite. I wasnt to sore either just the usual tight back, Hot water is great. I did the return trip in 2 1/2 days, I stay longer then I should have and had to get back to U.S.A.F. base so not to get into trouble. I loved the whole trip would love to do it again, just waiting for my NEW bike now................

This year my wife couldn't go to the Laughlin River Run with me (last weekend in April) so I took the Friday off work to go by myself for the day. It was about 500 miles round trip and my butt was really sore when I got home. It was a blast though and I would do it again!

1999 in a fit of homesickness did 2600km in I guess 40hrs on a ZZR600.

First day was 1100km in 12hrs riding (5am-5pm). Return the next morning was 1500km in 17hrs riding (7am-midnight).

2 weeks ago did 350km in 3 days riding in the Philippine countryside. Doesn't sound to impressive but it was 28hrs in the saddle on a Honda XLR200. Ouch.

500 Miles on a sportbike (ouch!) prefer less than 350. Max is 800 miles from Western Canada to Michigan on my Old 1980 GS1100E (that really hurt).

Houston to GA

In 1998 I did about 960 miles in 17 hours or so. I was coming from Houston and going to Athens, Ga (about 60 mi east of ATL). Stopped for gas and one rest at Denny's. I was on a 1987 VFR 700 w/stock seat.
I had this beaded butt-pad that looks like one of those thing taxi drivers sit on.
Surprisingly, I wasn't that sore after it was done. And I'm 6'3". I wish I had a picture of me getting off the bike. I looked like a C.H.U.D.

I guess i am a lightweight with a mere 300 miles in one day and 500 mile trip in 2 days on my unfaired 600 bandit. The 300 mile trip was mostly on back roads with large sections of twisties ie nearly all of it. Huge grin factor.
The 500 mile trip was on major roads mostly lots of straight boring bits Sore ass and wrist ache on this one . To travell from one end of the country to another is about 840 miles. So Huge mileages are not so easy to clock up without going round in big circles. 2 guys I know went round the 4 corners of the country in 4 days, a total of about 2500 miles. That is about as much as you could do without getting on a boat to the continent for some new scenery

800 miles on a ZX9R, fully loaded with luggage and tank bag and bags on top of tail bag, on last day of my trip to Daytona Beach Florida from Seattle WA (to go to Biketoberfest).

8 days one way, but I think 800 miles was the longest day I did.
