Cool Exotic trivia

This bike was the stuff of dreams for some of us a few years back.
Come on this shouldn't be too hard...
What is it?

Looks like a 900 Kawasaki engine. Could it be some kind of Rickman kit? Maybe around '75?

Hi Dad, yes the engine is Kawa. The DOHC sign on the cover gave that away.
I knew it would be a serious hint!
Luckily I did a good job of erasing every other sign and logo on the bike
In any case you re pretty close about the year (just a few years off) but it's not a Rickman
Actually it's much better than a Rickman Kawasaki of the time....I'm afraid I gave it away now....

Not Bimota is it? Were they even around then?

I am obviously guessing... taxing my failing memory.

Hi Dad, I became Dad as well on Wednesday!!!
My wife Xenia gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Wednesday 8/10 and I can't even describe my feelings! It's our first baby,
and we are really happy!!
I just wanted to share my feelings with you folks

I'm so happy I'll give it away.

Yes it's the 1978 KB1 the first Bimota with Kawasaki (1000)engine.
The best of the best of its time, and a very collectable bike today.
Specs:
1016cc, 81 PS, 220Kg, 233km/h top speed.
It was built from 1977 to 1981.
Here is the original picture.

Dang, I wish I had searched a little longer. I knew the Bimota nomenclature rules, so I was off looking for a Bimota KBx. I didn't find one readily, so I gave up.

I TOTALLY knew it!!!

Many congratulations!! I found, personally, the first month not to be too much fun, but when she gets a personality, its all over. In fact, its so much fun we might be heading into a second one early next year.
