A vintage beauty

Here is a picture of a really beautiful bike that also took part in the 4th Athens classic rally.
Can you find the brand and model?

Hi Andy,

You are welcome to visit me and enter the next rally if you want.
I have two bikes that are eligible for the classic rallies, you can ride one of them!
The 5th Athens Classic Rally will take place in November 2003, but the best rally of the year is in May and it's a two day rally wich covers more than 300km. Prepare yourself, make your planning, and you could even win a cup

Now let's go back to our trivia question....
The answer is yes, it is Italian or British.

Hi Aris,

One of these years I'm going to take you up on your offer... thanks

Now back to the trivia. I have looked high and low for this bike, but cannot find it.

I need another clue. From what I can determine it looks closer to an Italian motorcycle then a British one. It looks like a 500 cc side valve engine. The year it was manufactured is most likely somewhere between 1930-1935.

You re right Andy.
It's Italian and built between 1935 and 1940 approx.
I couldn't find myself a picture on the net of the exact same bike, so it has to be very hard to find a picture of this bike.
Serious hint: Observe the colour carefully...

No Hawkman, it's not a Brough although it looks as good!
It's Italian.

Yes the hint did it. I was looking at the Bianchi prior to your hint but because I could not find the exact model I was reluctant to guess that it was a Bianchi.

There is very little info on Bianchi motorcycles on the net. You would think there would be a lot more considering that Bianchi was a big name in motorcycles in the past.

Here is one of the better links:

Thanks for a fantastic trivia. I learned a lot from researching it.
