New kind of trivia

New kind of trivia!
I'll give you a full description of the bike and you try to find it.
This is a rare race motorcycle that was built in small numbers. ALmost the complete bike was built in house by a Genius engineer.

Engine
Water cooled 985cc 60 degree V-Twin quad cam 4-stroke.
4 valves per cylinder, included angle 30 degrees, belt driven DOHC
compression ratio: 13.7:1
bore x stroke: 13.7:1
Pistions from Omega, flat top slipper design
titanium conrods with oil feed to little end.
titanium valves, ground lash caps with direct acting buckets
Wet cast iron sleeves with no head gaskets
Dry clutch, wet sump, in-unit gearbox
Oil feed to big-ends, gudgeon pins, camshaft lobes & gearbox shafts
Programmable Engine Management Computer with history facility Fuel Injection - sequential, 2 injectors per cylinder

Transmission
five speed constant mesh gearbox
primary gears - straight cut
gear ratios: 2.5 : 1.77 : 1.38 : 1.125 : 0.961

24 degrees adjustable

3.5" x 17" in-house carbon composite

Twin 320mm cast iron rotors with opposed 4-piston Brembo calipers

210mm rotor with opposed piston Brembo caliper

Wheel base: 1420mm

Performance
160 HP @ 12,000 RPM in 985cc format
maximum safe engine speed: 12500rpm
maximum speed 303km/h

It also has nice distinctive colours

It was Blue and Pink.

Hey Robert, you re really fast, although your signature says you re slow

You re right of course, it's the Britten V1000. How nice it would be if John Britten had managed to build enough bikes to race in WSB! His bike was beating the Ducatis in every race they competed against them (battle of twins, Daytona etc).
His death was certainly a great loss for the motorcycle world
BTW how do you like this kind of trivia?

Here is a pic of the bike:
Note the most important characteristics of the chassis, girder fork!!! with single sided front suspension, all composite construction for chassis swingarm fork and wheels.

Dammit, I knew that one.

I got to see that thing up close and actually touch it. Nick Ienatch raced it in the Formula USA series here in the states back in '96. My friend and I were staring at it like little kids and Nick invited us into his paddock area to discuss it and get close look. It is a true work of art.

Britten

I just saw a Britten at the Guggenheim show in Las Vegas. It is easily one of the most amazing motorcycles ever to be built, but it does not have a single-sided suspension, front or rear. I could have easily spent a few hours studying that bike alone. It was very difficult not to touch.

DITTO, bought the poster at the Vegas show of the V1000 and the Duc 750SS, right next to the computer here now.

I can't believe no one took his design and continued working on it after his death?????????????

Maybe his widow didn't want to sell the design rights or something, I don't know. But that thing looked set to embarrass the fvck out of the factories in short order.
