Loris Capirossi revealed his own surprise at his scorching lap time around the Montmelo circuit during the recent pre-season IRTA test. The Italian, riding last year's NSR500, was over a second quicker than Valentino Rossi's lap record.
BTW: How do you explain that your favourite rider, Max, is much slower on the M1 than Checa?
Or that he used John Kocinski's M1 to make a respectable lap time in recent tests, because he can't figure out how to adjust his own bike.
It's obvious that he can't drift the rear, and I'm afraid that although he is one of the greatest 250 GP riders, he will NEVER win the top category!
It would be interesting to see Max on a Honda.
If he was on an RC211V like Rossi's he would probably be in deep trouble though.
He would run out of excuses and would have to use excuses similar to Alain Prost's when he couldn't run in the same second as Ayrton Senna in the same car.
