Lateral Frame Concept

What was the Lateral Frame Concept, on which bike was it used, and how did the manufacturer get the idea?

Yeah, it was the FJ, you re in form Smeg

OK let's say that they got the idea from a company that specialised in frames in the early days, and were the best at it! They also built many nice bikes, with other manufacturer's engines
Also the FJ was initially using tires that were specifically designed for a bike from the 'other' manufacturer.

HondaNut, you are quite right actually

The side of these frames looked a bit like a ladder!
