who is this?

name this former harley davidson vr1000 factory superbike racer (and what year(s) he raced for the orange and black squad).

difficulty level: pretty damn easy.

BONUS: the bike is the dutchman racing yamaha, what was the bike's "nick-name?" (this is MAJOR easy, hell you can almost read it in the pic))

one more added bonus, the rider of this bike is the winnest rider in the history of what series?--still not hard, but you may have to think about it.

If he had a number 17 on the bike the question would be easier.

well, here's a hint, this rider had the #77 on his vr1000 as well. second hint, after he was sacked harley, went he back to dutchman and had a bout with a VERY serious illness.

actually the hints were set up to lead people to think of miguel (winning ama 600ss rider).

mike, you are correct. he is the winnest rider in formula usa (well, tied for it).

fritz kling was miguel duhamel's teammate at harley. on many vr1000 fan pages, you can find pictures of him labeled as duhamel (the 17 and 77's looked similar).

i met fritz in 1997 or so at pocono. he was riding for dutchman yamaha at the time. my buddy is big harley nut. he talked in great detail about much fun he had there. he just seemed happy to have a chance. he said he would've gone back if the opportunity presented itself. as a small side-note, that means that kling, wilson and picotte are the only guys who seemed happy at harley (and all 3 get a good screwing).

i don't remember what was wrong with him, but i think he had some form of cancer. survived that and came back to racing.

one of the true gentlemen and heros of the sport, even though he accomplishments have become somewhat of a weird trivia question.
