Welcome to SBW!
If you find someone to ride with please make sure they are good riders. I know a girl that was becoming afraid of bikes because she was riding with someon that wasn't that great of a rider. So I gave her a ride with myself a she totally changed her opinion.

I agree, you should ride green. That way you can wreck it a few times during the learning process. Then when you feel confident go with a Yamaha.

Not to trash the image I like that color on an R1. Doesn't it seems like it was changed with Photoshop or some thing? The backround and mags on the rims are colored purple as well.
Again, nice color.

How confident can you be with a bike that blows the rear rim off

P.S. Welcome to SBW!

Now that's harsh. Besides the manufacturer of that rim supplies the other bike manufacturers. It could have happened to a Kawi too.

I had no problem with you dreaming. I dream that the insurance company will write the check and I can get my bike back on the road.

Dreaming is good.
