Hey all......registered last night after spending about a week watching from the shadows. I've been a dirt baby all my life till now. I'm trying to break into the sportbike market and wanted some advice. I'm partial to honda and kawasaki, will never ride a suzuki, and the yami's are too popular here in Hawaii. So any advice you can give me will be very appreciated. I'm a long time sand dune CR 500 rider so bike skill is there. The only 600 I would consider would be the F4i. I much more partial to the 929 if they would fix the F%$^ headlight. I really love the kawi's 7R but I think that design is about done. With the 7R at 448 lbs, the 9R and yami R1 are both much lighter. I've checked out the RC-51(nice bike John), but the whole island here only has one coming in....and its already sold. I do like the performance of the 9R, but the ergo's don't fit me too much. I don't mind waiting a year if someone can guarantee me a new design on the 7R???????.....anybody have a buddy who has a buddy???? Anyway, the RC-51 is about as big as I want to go. I believe skillful riders don't need displacement to hang with the bigger boys. Any idea's are appreciated, thanks for a great forum............mac

Won't ride a Suzuki. LMAO. We are going to get along fine.

The 929 is going to be faster than the RC-51. It is more of a handful than the RC also. The RC is actually fairly easy to ride. Gotta love the twins. A 929 would be damn fun too.

According to a article in Sport Rider that arrive Fri., there is not going to be a new 7R. They are going to wait out the effects of the new GP rules on Superbikes.

I will say that on the street, the 7R is still one of the best 750 values out there. They sell them cheap to move them. It is very capable, very reliable and there is a ton of performance parts available. Plus the newer model looks good too.

Yes, I am recommending a Kawi again. I have got to go to the Doctor and get checked out. Geez.

No new 7R huh? Shucks, I might have to get the 929 then. I didn't want anything that big (over 700 range) cause the roads over here are nothing but severe twisties. But I've been reading more on the 929 and lots of ppl say it handles like a 600 in the leans....any feedback on that? I've only rode the R-1, 9R, and an RC-51 that belongs to my buddy. Haven't tried out any of the 600's yet, might have to look at the F4i. Well, anyway, thanks for the welcome,
