Red face

Hi folks; purchased my first sportbike last year (ZX600R Ninja) with the intentions of eventually getting into racing (street riding is fun, but people scare the bejeezus out of me). I'd love to learn more about my bike/riding/racing, but have NO ONE to share the experience with (Jackson, Michigan = not a big sportbike town). I'd like to be able to gather up some riders in the area (especially those with with racing aspirations) and share ideas, track time, maintenance tips, etc.

Love my bike, but I want more, more, more! :-)

Thanks for the time.

Robert

Welcome to SBW!

Getting into racing is a good thing. I would do it myself but it gets kind of costly.

I know what you mean about the people on the street. I fear them as well. Afterall when your trying to be safe and watch yourself one of those bastards will turn left in front of you and you can spend 5 weeks in a hospital bed.

Good luck in your adventures;

Mich riders

Hi ya! As you can see under my nickname I'm from Chesaning, not all that far from Jackson. A couple of times a year a bunch of us guys get together and rent Gratton's track for a day of semi-serious to serious riding. If you want to get into racing may I suggest getting some track time to see if you like it before spending the big bucks for a racing effort.

Perhaps checking into Keith Code's Superbike School or Penguin Racing's school would be a good start to get some instruction and track time?
