Seriously though, The best thing to do is go to different places and sit on different bikes. Your height isn't as big a factor as your inseam. You should do fine on any 600, The SV650 is a good choice also. Remember suspension can be adjusted for your weight.
First things first though, look at taking an MSF Basic Rider Course where they provide the bike. They can be expensive, but let's say the class runs $150, and after you decide you don't like riding mc's. Think of the money saved. However, the course provides you with info and skills needed in everyday riding and makes riding much more enjoyable. I would also suggest starting out with a used bike at first. And by all means don't forget the gear. Dress to go down everytime you ride.
