salvage title

i can get a 2004 cbr rr 600 for 1000 dollars with a salvage title. should i buy it or is the bike only usefull for parts?

$1000 CBR

At that price, even as a salvage bike, you can pretty much bet that it's nothing more than a pile of scrap metal. Even a pretty heavily crashed bike would usually be worth more than that.

Buyer beware- this sounds fishy to me.

I'd want to take a peek at it. As mentioned, it seems WAY too low of a price to be anything but a pile of scrap. You would need way more information other than "salvage title" to make a decision. I've rarely heard of anyone saying a salvage title bike was worth it, unless it was just going to be an unregistered beater to learn stunting on.
