Talking Metro Atlanta Newbie

Hello all - just joined in. I picked up my bike last week ('04 Ninja 500R) and am having a blast (wondering WHY I didn't buy one a long time ago). At any rate, I am still learning how to ride it and getting used to the machine itself - so far so good. I am trying to keep a good head on my shoulders and see a lot of great advice here. I hope to learn from my predecessors as I am already picky about my bike and don't want to lay 'er down. (Oh - don't want to go down with 'er either). Anyway - I can already see that once you get out and ride, it becomes a lifetime hobby. My car is already out of the garage, collecting dust and looking pretty sad.

Welcome to SBW, and congrats on your bike!

The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all of fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomanical, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully. - Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion

Yep - MSF course is definitely in the planning. Everyone I've spoken to says it is a must, so it must really be a must. Any recommendations on state sponsored or private sponsored? Any difference? In Ga., they are virtually the same cost.
