Newbie in Nashville

Hey All

Just wanted to say Hi, as this is my first post. I'm a 25 year old female and have been in love with motorcycles since the days of my first big wheel. I finally took the MSF course last weekend and hopefully will be getting a ninja 250 in a couple weeks. My dream bike is the new GS500F but that will come with time/experience/and of course $$$. I'm just happy to be on two wheels and i'm sure i will be shootin lots of questions your way once i get my ride.

Dreamin of Sunny Weather and Open Roads!

Hey, I'm in Nashville too. I don't have my bike yet, but should be getting it early July. Hopefully I'll see you out there.

Hey Gideon777

Think i remember you talkin about getting a 250/500. Have you picked one out yet. I really would love the suzuki GS500F but i have been all over the place looking for one and they are all sold out. I'll probably end up gettin my ninja from americian motorsports down on nolensville. I haven't seen too many sportbikers in Nashville. Lots of harleys though. I'll probably be out on the Nanchez Trace parkway every weekend. Maybe i'll seeya out there sometime.

Yeah, I'm still in the market for a 250/500. I haven't bought one yet, cause I don't have any money, but that will 'ideally' be fixed by the end of this month, but a two week road trip with a friend may put an end to my blissfully moneyed days. But I should recover quickly enough and have a bike sometime in August, hopefully.

I have found plenty of decent bikes on ebay. Many that were within a few hundred miles of Nashville. I say this only because I feel a little weird about buying a bike from American Motorsports. They charge much too much for their used bikes, and even with their new ones, they have a total disregard for the rider and only care about the bottom line. I was in there sitting on bikes a few weeks ago and they sold this guy a ZX-10. And when he left, with no helmet and in shorts, sandals, and a cut off shirts, I asked the guy who sold it to him how long he had been riding. "Oh, that's his first bike", he said. I cringed inside. But, they're good about letting you sit on the bikes.

Hopefully I will see you on the Trace in a month or two. It's the first place I'm gonna hit when I get my bike, I can't wait. I may actually take a sleeping bag and some apples with me and go all the way down to Alabama, I think, and backover the course of a few days.

Let me know what color your bike and gear is so I can salute you when I see you.

Today is the Big Day!

Well the day has finally come! I wanted to wait 2 weeks for one more paycheck but since they offered me 90 day same as cash, I've decided I need it NOW! The only bad thing is I haven't had a chance to run to the DMV to get my license validated yet so riding will have to wait till monday. I'll post a picture of the bike on here when i get it (if i can figure out how).

Yeah i had a problem with the guys at America's Motorsports up in River Gate. I told them i was in the market for a 250 ninja and the guy told me i would be bored of it in a week. I peeked out the window to see his Hayabusa in the parking lot with a license plate that reads "Live fast, Die fast" Not someone I'm going to take advice from. The guys at the America's Motorsports in Nolensville have been really good to me though. Dave helped me out and I mentioned that a biker friend of mine thought i should learn to ride on a ZX-6R. Dave told me he would not feel comfortable selling me that bike. He could have easily up sold me on a 500 but told me the 250 is fun and fast (enough) and I would love it. He rides an R1 and still loves to hop on the 250.

As for the prices on bikes, every where i have looked the price for the ninja is the same including the kawasaki website. $2999. I started looking for used bikes and was finding bikes that were 15 years old and still going for $1500-2000. 250's seem to be in high demand as a newbie bike and since the brand new isn't too much more than the used i decided the warrenty was worth it.

Good luck finding your perfect bike! I have never been so excited about anything before. I'll be on the dark blue ninja with black riding jacket and black/white/silver helmet. Probably going 35mph (since that is the top break in speed!) around bellevue and nanchez. Can't wait to see ya out there!
