Just saying hello

Hi,

Just thought I would stop by and say hello, and give y'all some background information.

I'm a "thirty something" Brit living in California.

Currently ride a '98 GSXR750, owned it for four years, and put 56,000 miles on it so far. Bought it from a squid that crashed it after a few miles and got scared of it. I have not stopped fiddling with it in all that time, and the mods list is now a bound volume.

I also have a number of Yamaha RD350LC's in various stages of rebuilds or disassembly. One will be primarilry a track bike, one a road bike/Cafe racer, and hopefully the rest of the bits will be assembled into a bike for my teenager, should he ever actually want it.

I would describe myslef as a gear nazi, and a firm beleiver in the "start on something smaller, and less potent" group. I only pull wheelies out of turn2.....

I ride comparatively slowly and gently on the road, have 1/2" wide "chicken strips and I do not care, I burn the edges off when I hit the track.

Stunting does not impress me, nor does "getting you knee down on the street" both I consider to be potentially dangerous, as you are riding beyond the conditions, and leaving no room for error.

Riding in decent gear, with your limits, and within the limits of the conditions however will do so.

Back in the UK I was an instructor for a few years (CBT and Fast-Track) in my spare time. I was once banned from riding, and had my licence taken off me for ~160mph on a deserted motorway, and before you as - yes it WAS stupid, not only did it cost me a lot of money, but I also cannot say much about speeding anymore......

OK ?

I agree with most of what you said and got a laugh from your signature. 1100 is my lucky number.

Its the best mod on the bike so far - except maybe for the flaming union-jack decals

I picked up yet another RD350LC - brings my tally to three and a half now

Two are stripped - farme powder coat time - settled on black for the track (Black and Yellow paint is planned) and Blus for the cafe racer street bike.

Teenager may get #3 if he can stop crashing his EX250 long enough for me to work on the RD's rather than his POS.......
