"No Minorities Here!

The San Diego City council has now officially banned the use of the word "minority" to describe any group in city documents. The vote was unanimous, with council chairman George Stevens arguing that calling someone a minority implies that person is inferior.

In fact, the word would also apply to any member of any race in California, a state in which no ethnic or racial group now constitutes a majority, according to the year 2000 census. "

What do u think????

Thumbs down

I think that people need to find more productive things to do. There are always some people out there that have some sort of complex-they themselves probably DO feel "minor", but it isn't from being classified as a minority.
I guess we can't use the term minority when it comes to House votes, now huh? Minority and Majority. Simple terms for even simple people to understand. What term should replace it? "Fewer, but just as important?"??????
Come to think of it, why not eliminate that term concerning "minors"-people under 18 (as if you didn't know)???
I would take it that these same cry babies DO think that minors are inferior.......F'em.
