Quick help from Fluent Spanish speaker...

Too many contradicting findings across the internet.

Can someone who is fluent in Spanish confirm weather or not "Fauna" is spanish for "Cougar"?

TIA

I don't specifically know what it means, I just know it's what Flora isn't.

I thought flora was plant life and fauna was all animal life, is that not right? And while we are at it, where does bacteria fit?

Depends on who you ask. General consensus puts them more into the plant category, while some consider bacteria to be a separate classification altogether.

That is right.

We are trying to pick out a name for a Kitty I'll be getting in late summer / early fall, and mom suggested Fauna. For some reason, she had it in her head that it was a Spanish word, and I had a brain fart. I had forgotten all about science class.

So... with that in mind... Would Fauna still be a good name for consideration, or would this just make it too lame?

Tee's opinion: "Not that there's anything wrong with that..."
