It makes more sense to me than the way every other car manufacturer is going about it now.


I wonder how much longer it will be before you call a computer tech instead of a tow truck when your car breaks down?

The computer tech will still be driving a tow truck...

Think bigger. How long before the car is all solid state with no servicable parts?

That is a good question, but I see too many variables. BMW is the company that moved to Valvetronic and did away with a Throttle body. now the IP idea. Cars, in general, have been moving further into computer and electronic control for a while now. However, a solid state vehicle, as I see it anyway, would mean one without mechanical parts. BMW is not playing in the electric car field, as far as I know. Their big push is into Hydrogen power. I guess it will all come down to how fast other car designers pick up on the innovations such as what BMW is coming out with.
