Just got back from Lost Wages with my family after a week's vacation. Fun town & lots to do even if you don't gamble (I don't)
I was walking in Nirvana upon visiting the Venitian Casino and touring the Guggenheim "Art of the Motorcycle" display. Absolutely breathtaking display of machines. I spent two hours (not long enough) looking at all the highly unusual and very rare machines on display. They are a compilation of bikes from private & public collections from around the world, and once the tour is completed, you will NEVER see that extensive of an assortment!
It is worth the visit! Admission was $14 but you can't take photos, so save another $50 for the very nice book that the museum sells on all the machines. It's worth it because you would spend more than that on film and probably not take as good of photos.
I can't recommend this enough, it was the highlight of the trip. Besides, the weather is lovely in Vegas right now, wait a couple months and you're toast...literally!
visit the site for a preview of some of the display:
My wife was in Vegas on business and went through the museum. she brought me a shirt with the easy rider Harley on the back (nice gesture) and the book! The Book is Fantastic and I believe it's worth the $50.
I've never been to Vegas, but a co-worker friend and I were thinking of heading out that way the last weekend in May. I'm not a real big spender in the gambling department, but I'd really love to check out that museum!
Hey, does anybody else out there plan to go around that time? It'd be fun to hook up with some other members! We could make it a party!
