Measuring Sag

I am releasing a digital sag scale (see here) for dirt bikes this summer and I am currently working on adapting it to street bikes. I will be developing a suction based clip to attach to the body similar to a GPS dash mount. Since I ride motocross I am in need of some input if anyone wants to chime in. On the rear, do you guys measure vertically to the fender or do you measure at an angle to account for the arc of the axle? For dirt bikes we go at an angle. I measure from the swing arm pivot to the rear axle and then measure the same distance from the swing arm pivot to the side plate to get a good reference point on the bike. I think the forks are pretty straight forward and I just need to get a simple attachment for the fork tube or triple clamp. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
