Bent valves and crankshaft

Ok, so I'm in the process of rebuilding my engine, I have a Suzuki tls1000. My crank and one rod is damaged. I found a low milage used tlr engine but, yeap theirs always a but, it has a couple of bent valves. It is still running, just down on power. Well the price of the engine is hard to beat. I planned on buying the engine and swapping the heads and possibly the pistons with mine. My heads are on great shape. Now I posted my plan on another site and some Aussie gets on telling me not to buy it cause the crank will be damaged. I've been working on engines for many years and I've never experienced a crank damaged from a couple of bent valves, damaged pistons yes but never a damaged crank. I'm sure it's possible but highly unlikely. Anybody here ever had a damaged crank due to bent valves?

I guess peeps here don't do to much working on their own bike. That ok I guess, that's why they have shops but I can't afford $125 an hour for laver and 1000% mark up on parts. It's a shame, u guys could save some loot if you learned to work on your own bikes. Ijs
