not being mean to ya, but im assuming your not an idiot and do have the clutch pulled all the way in, right?

umm.... well other than that I have heard that clutches get stuck every once and a while. Assuming this might be your problem, not more than a month ago a friend had the same issue. It was that the clutch plates (feed & drive) are stuck to eachother, he simply fixed it be stating it in neutral and kicking it into first without pulling in the clutch by hand. The bike will jump and die, but this will jolt the system causing the plates to release the hold that they have on eachother. Try this several times and as many times as needed, im sure this is whats up. After a good series trying this, try to ride the bike.

Before trying that I would lubricate your clutch cable. There are handy bottles for that available at all motorcycle dealerships and don't require disassembly, generally. I can't honestly say I understand what you're trying to convey but this would eliminate any cable hang-up in the cable sheathing.

Will the engine start with the trans in 1st gear? Obviously the clutch has to be pulled in and the kickstand has to be up. It sounds like the cable is still not adjusted right. Do you have the owner's manual? You can probably download one if you need it.
