Changes the jets on the carbs. Gives you more power/throttle response. I got a stage 1 jet kit put on my '92 CBR600 F2 and could tell a big difference. Since then, though, my bikes have been FI. here is a sample of instructions to install a kit.

If you don't have much mechanical experience (especially with carbs) you might want to find a friend or take it to a shop.

I've yet to have a bad experience with DynoJet. As for aftermarket parts, what are you looking for? Off the top of my head, http://www.indysuperbikes.com/ and http://www.kneedraggers.com/ are a couple good ones.
