Im curious....

I have a Zuk RF600R and have come across a very good deal on a GSXR 600 motor with all wire harnesses hook ups etc. Will that motor mount up in my RF? Can it be done with little to no hassle?

Possibly the early water cooled gsxr engines up to 97 might bolt up because I think they are the same engine, but a newer fuel injected one won't.

I mean anything is possible, but to use one you would need an ECU, airbox, gauge cluster, new sprocket gearing, frame modifications and pretty much a new electrical system. And there may be clearance issues with the tank.

It will be cosly IF(?) you come through with an ideal bike & even when you do decide to sell it, so many will turn it down for many reasons.

So much can fail in these more modern days. Back in the late 40s to the 70s it was easy to do to yes even making proper engine mounting plates to you name it if you had the knowledge, tools & time.

In the cage world they have turned out some amazing cars & learn so much. Might have cost them $40,000.00 but they have something so different though resale value is more like $12,000.00.

I remember popping a Matchless 600cc one lung MX 4-stroke engine into the frame of a Greeves 250cc MX bike. Ground clearance to low for comp or even riding in the bush & was lucky to sell it to a rich American that just had to have this rocket of a bike (even I could not scoot down a block with the bike still under proper control). But at least I dumped it for well below my cost & to me that was money in my pocket.

Also that was back in '57 when paper work was not a nightmare.
