Talking Props for stickies!!!!!

I can't express how happy I am that stickies finally got put up in New Riders. For so long SBW went without using them, and for good reason. IMO, they're overused all over the place, but addressing the "first bike" question we see daily in a stickie is certainly warranted.

Thanks to the staff!

Yeah, yeah, I'm slow to recognize change. Bite me

It is a great plan.

Problem is, the newbies in spring don't seem to read them, so effectively, it's as useful as tits on a boar.

Yeah, the one sticky that I did I might unlock and let people add info, granted it will be monitored more and when it goes off topic, the posts will be deleted. Will have to talk to the other mods and see what they think.

I think they're fine examples and should be left alone, personally. At best Chris Sedition had a really great post he was pasting around that I was using frequently. Maybe adding that to one of them. Anyway, knowing they're there will now result in easy responses to those questions from me:

If its clear they haven't read them based on further feedback, it'll be time for the RTFA!

Did you see the post I put up with the link to the article about good bikes for new riders? I thought that article was awesome and should be a must-read for EVERY newbie.

It stays at the top of a given board, making it more noticeable, particularly for those who need it most (new members).

Unfortunately in reality it seems to make threads invisible, as I've rarely seen anyone read them.

That's an artifact of overuse, I think

However, it makes it FAR easier to find a thread on the subject and paste it into a post, thus alleviating the Search and drudging through the garbage for the concise ones.
