Poll: Why do we have so many frigging polls at once?!

Seriously, there are way too many polls. There are 3 pages of polls. My suggestion is to use the Search function on SBW and quit clogging up the server.

That's just my . Let the flaming begin!!

It would be one thing if people went through and added to the discussion, but it seems someone will go through and vote without replying, causing all of the polls to show up on the New Posts list. It does get a bit irritating. Perhaps the vBull software can be changed so that when someone votes, it doesn't show that someone replied in the New Posts search.

Yeah. Nothing against the person who keeps setting up these polls, but when I go to the New Posts page (where I always go) and see pages of polls, it's kind of irritating when pretty much all of the answers will be found in a search. Some obviously get people's responses like the Who for President one, but the others seem to get washed over.

My response when I saw all of these polls was

I have no problem with polls. It's just annoying that people drag up old polls without replying. So nothing new is added to the discussion. It would be nice like scott said if voting didn't bump the post back up to the top of the list.

either that or get rid of all the old polls (>1 year) that don't have replies. or even delete the ones that get the rare occasional response (1 reply every 3 months).

Well if you delete the whole thing you would lose information that some may find useful. I personally haven't benefitted from any of the polls themselves, but I have from the discussions in those threads. Others might find the votes useful too. I just think that it shouldn't show up on the New Posts list unless someone actually replied. I'm not sure if that's possible with the forum software though, as I 1) am not a programmer and 2) don't have access to change anything (except banning monkey )

Agreed, its been bugging me too and I almost said something last night. Polls are great, it'd just be cool if new votes dont bump the threads

I've used an old poll as reference (albeit biased) to information relative to past research studies, so they can offer value. In other words, I don't support their removal. Archives are really nice to have handy.

The bumping, I understand, can be annoying, though I never dial-up, so I don't find it too much of a bother.

When I read the thread title, I LOL because I thought wheelie had posted a poll about how annoying polls were

Is this now a Suggestions forum thread, mods?
