Spelling and Grammar

Okay, here's a suggestion, How about an automatic spelling and grammar checker for the posts. The spelling and grammar around here is simply atrocious.

I used to have a spell checker coded into the site, but the place I used (3rd party application) went out of business.

Hi Kevlar7R,

I just copy and paste my message into Word before I post it. I do a quick spell check in Word, then copy and post back into vbulletin, then I post it.

Cool

As much as I agree that the spelling/grammar is not *up to code* I don't see the NEED to have an auto check on the site. Bottom line... if the post is unreadable then it's probably not worth trying to read to begin with. Maybe Robert could rig it so the reply won't post if there are a certain number of errors. Kind of like it won't let you post files that are too big. (j/k)

It seems to me that without spelling and grammar bashing posts the web site would lose half of its activity

hey Robert what is the software coded in? I might be able to rig a spellchecker in PHP. I'll look for some free code to do the dirty work... or perhaps we could tap in to MS Word components on your server...

I usually have grammer mistakes due to my having thousands of genius ideas at any given moment; transfering those to text is hard at times.

only kidding. I'm just lazy....

I had a spell checker on the forum for a while, but it really puts a load on the server so I took it off.

P.S. The server is Linux based, no "MS Word components" on the server.
