Amsoil to introduce their new 10w 30 motorcycle oil August 1st

Since several OEM's are now recommending a 10w 30 motorcylce oil Amsoil will be bringing theirs to the market on August 1st. This oil will have all the same performance inhancements as their 10w 40's and 20w 50's have. Benefits like cooler running engine temperatures in both air cooled as well as liquid cooled engines, superior wear control, foaming control. viscosity stability for transmissions, wet clutch compatibility, reduced oil consumption. and excellent storage protection.

[QUOTE=mtptl;663169]Does Amsoil have any opinions on when/why switching to full syn. oil is better over convensional oil? I'm a firm believer in full syn. oil, but some people believe in straight dino oil as they feel that if the manufacturer wanted us to run synthetic then they would use/specify it in the manual etc...?

The switch to Synthetic Motorcycle Specific can be done at the 600 mile service. The intial 600 miles is to get machining and casting debris out of the engine.

AMSOIL is 100% Synthetic, not full or fully but, as far as the OEM is concerned, they write the Specs to meet MINIMUM Requirements.

As far as AMSOIL.... Smoother shifts, easier to find neutral, fewer false neutrals, cooler oil temps, more HP, better fuel mileage and less wear.

Consumer Reports did a test of oils a couple years ago, if you have an account with them you can look it up.

The problem is, it was a long time ago and it is outdated information.

Oils, such as Rotella, have been reformulated 3 times in the last 18 months due to problems.
