Dude! Yeah, thats ridiculous! I dont know if I read that right, but in the comments someone said something about the truck driver actually hitting a couple of riders like that.

Idiot!

Yeah, I agree...we've all seen this first hand, and it is dangerous.

It's a state highway, open to all motor vehicles.
We choose to ride bikes there at our own risk.
Better signage would be nice, no vehicles but motorcycles, but that's kinda absurd.
I'm sure smart local truck drivers avoid the gap.

Just wanted to show what it looked like going the other way. It's a big risk to ride the GAP like it's a race track!

Bingo! However I've never been there, I can imagine that those twisties just speak to you, giving bad advice...

"Cmon, haul ass!!! You can do it! Itll be fine..."

Especially for people that come from afar to ride the dragon. Cmon! You gonna go home and tell your friends you rode the dragon at 30 mph? I doubt it.

So I guess its the riders decision. The truckers are always on the road looking for shortcuts. They just wanna get home. I dont agree with big trucks on those roads however bikers shouldnt be thinking they are rossi there either.

I guess thats why there is a tree of shame on the dragon.

Well put.
Riders come from all over the WORLD to ride the dragon.
A road created for all vehicles, not just us.
We exceed posted speed limits, mostly with bikes that are owned by banks, not us... ride in a manner that often voids our health and vehicle insurance, we loiter and possibly obstruct..
There's plenty of accidents and injuries for cars, trucks, campers, RV's motorcycles, pedal bicycles, ect...
I think the state of NC cuts us alot of slack actually.
We'er lucky there's no Tree of Shame for semis......lol.......
It'd be awesome if the Dragon was just for us, but that'll never happen.
