Good place for gear..

Im sure this has been asked before.

I currently have an Icon mesh jacket, some icon gloves and boots and an KBC helmet.

I dont have any good protective pants. I wouldnt mind getting some, im just not sure what to get.

Any suggestions? Also, has anyone dealt with some good online shops?

Thanks.

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cant help it!!!!

I have a problem. Im a bike addict.

Are you kidding me? Man, I am so pissed at myself for selling my bike! I dont even like the new gixxers either. That makes it worse. I cant just go get one new and be as happy as I was with mine. ARGH!!!

I went to a few dealers yesterday just to see them all up close. I left with a very empty feeling.

www.motorcycle-superstore.com

I get all my gears there. Price is pretty good, selection is quite wide, and I had no problem returning a few things. Oh, and free shipping for anything over $75 total.

jay if your ordering pants you might was well order a good back protector too! If your seriously worried about getting hurt a back protector should be on that list! Make sure it's a CE level 2. I believe the new joe rocket BP is actually made by t-pro which happens to be a CE level 2.

Ok. My Icon jacked has a back protector in it. What would I do? Order a better one and slide the old one out replacing it? Im all about not getting skinned alive!

Thanks for that tip.

Whats with the CE level 2 thing? Are there any articles or anything where I can read up on the grades of protective armor? Im not sure whats what. I just kinda trusted that Icon would put good stuff in their jackets....

P.S.

What is the Joe Rocket BP?

Well I know cycleforums.com had some topics about it. You might also want to check out webbikeworld too. Baiscally there's different levels of protection level 1 which most our armour is (knees, shoulder cups, etc) Then you have level 2 which absorbs more energy than level 1. To answer your question, yes you would slide the icon one out. From everything I've read only a few are actually level 2 and your spine needs a level 2 protector because it can't handle more than 18 joules of impact before breaking, that's why Im saying this.

Joe Rocket BP = Joe Rocket Back Protector. Mind you I'm NOT talking about the crappy yellow one they made last year. Their new one is the bomb.

As for Icon gear, I havent read tons of great reviews on the stuff, sure they make gear, but it's not their ass sliding on the pavent it's yours, I do know my alpinestars leather held up great in my last slide, hell I'm keeping it and still riding with it, no stiches are ripped and the leathes still OK, just scuffed up pretty good, I say it now has character.

Thanks for the info. So a good leather pant would definitely be good then.

Im thinking I might bite the bullet and get a leather jacket too. I really like the mesh icon I have, however I doubt its ability to hold up in a good slide.

Do leather coats have the option to slide armor in and out?

Oh, I looked and joe rocket has a few back protectors. Which one is it?
