Im not a vegas guy but I went there to rent a bike and hit the road, and see some shows.. Blue man group, comedy shows, that sort of stuff...

Heres an odd sign that I ran across in the desert..

My wife and I just got back. We were there Friday thru Monday. Great trip. I'm not much of a Gambler either, but had a great time none the less. We rented a car and went out to Lake Mead and Hoover Dam. We did Red Rock Canyon the next day, and saw some cool shows as well. We stayed at New York New York, and saw Zumanity there. That was a really cool show.

Lessons learned:

Don't stay on the strip. Stay Down town or just off the strip. You will save alot of money on your room.

Never walk up to a bar and order a drink. Find a waitress on the casino floor, sit down at a slot machine, tip her a buck. Much cheaper.

Be ready to walk, alot!

My wife is going Thanksgiving weekend. I've already put her in contact with LV Sportbike rental. Glad to hear that they're a good outfit!

Hey, Jon, how did you like NY NY? I stayed there about 7 years ago and I found the elevators to be confusing (especially after a few drinks!)....lol First time I went we stayed at the Imperial Palace and the last time I went (in March) we stayed at the Bellagio.......now THAT was a nice place!!!

I find Vegas to be overrated.. but maybe that's cuz I go there every year for work and it's like once you've seen the stuff once or twice there's no thrill... I did enjoy venturing away from the strip and seeing the desert of fire and the dam - would have loved to take the helicopter ride down into the canyon... but didnt' have the time since I'm there for work my free time is limited...

Blue Man Group was my favorite show BUT all their shows are the same ....

I'd love to get that rental company's information to have on hand in the event that I have enough free time to take one for a spin.. I was gonna meet up with Jester this last March when I went but things came up and it didn't happen...

E i agree, half of my family lives in vegas so i go there every year too, since i was little. the only thing is...im not 21 yet so its gonna be a whole new city next time i go! lol ive gambled there, my grandpa just cashes out for me.

lucky for me my parents are building their new house in st george utah and its only and hour and a half from vegas, and its even closer to mesquitte.

btw if any of you go to vegas and want a little getaway from the big city, head out to mesquitte. especially if you golf, there are some excellent golf courses there. its a much smaller city but still has some decent sized casino resorts there

E. I don't know who you are going to Vegas with, but not having a good time. Wow. Might have something to do with work.

But we go every year for the Super Bowl and have a blast. The parties our outrageous and will give you an overdose in fun. I don't gamble but I rent bikes and just enjoy the scenery.

Not to mention the rentababes, that is the only reason I go. Cuz, you know me...I gotta pay for my shit. JUST KIDDING!

you're right.... doc... going with a group of fun friends would make a difference.. but you know what.. it'd be the freinds I'm going with that would make it like that not vegas... so again.. I'd find more thrills with whom I'm going with rather than where... I hate gamblin... and the shows are all the same after so many years.. but I'd def. be up for fun with friends and riding out in the desert on a rental bike....

when I'm there I'm working from 7am till 8 pm everyday ... only free time is if I fly in early the day before instead of late.. can't take anymore owrk off for myslef at those times cuz I'm already missin a week for the conference ...
