WV trip pictures - large but worth looking at

I hardly took any because it was raining so much... which was a real bummer. What a gorgeous time of year to be riding here.

Gotta stop and see Senaca Rocks. Not only a beautiful sight... but Rt 33 is one of the best around. The roads leading up to the Rocks and away are amazing.

It was real foggy and misty rainy here... so it wast the best.

We tried to get going without the rain gear... that lasted for oh 15 minutes. Back on with the rain gear. The thermometer said 43 degress right here.

This was the most beautiful sight I have ever seen as far as fall colors go. Just miles and miles of it. I wish the sun was shining... would have been even better.

Off to the side here... it looked like a bowl of Trix (the cereal). Just color after color all over the mountains.

You cant really see it... but back in the back ground this spot, the mmountains still had some green... but spattered with color. Real cool to see.

Its me!

And here is what we lwere heading into... and what we just came out of. Was pretty cool that the fog broke in this one little spot and allowed us to see all the color.

Then we came across the aliens landing. This one little spot of sun shown through the fog and lit up the colors.... pictures are drowned out from the sun... was just amazing to see though.

I want to go back... the wet roads sucked. I didnt get my fill of the curvy roads in. But, it was still a great time.

I need a new camera too... these pictures just dont do what we saw justice.

Blah... if I had enough time to hike at the Rocks... that would just mean I would have ad more time to hit antoher road. We didnt get to see a lot of roads. And didnt get to enjoy them anywhere near what we could because of the rain.
Screw hiking... I am there to ride!!!

congrats man, I honestly think you did an pristine job at capturing the area. Those tree's surely look like they're on FIRE. Simply amazing, thank you again.

Would you mind giving me a waypoint, or closest city in WV from those seneca rocks? I wasnt able to venture too far in when I went, but I definitely need go to again, and most of what I saw in SE ohio was rolling, nothing too sharp in elevation change.

I'd also take wet roads over dry gravel any day. IMO, at least you know teh traction is going to suck... my way down 555 was a guess at everycorner, both in terms of gravel and which way the road was going to turn!

chock one up for another great ride report from ken!

Just look for the city of Senaca. Thats it! Pretty cool sight to see.

We rode 555 twice.. once on the way there and once on the way back. I like it... but the gravel and the blind curves/hills... I just dont like. I dont feel comfortable on that road at all. And even if I knew every turn by heart... still it is a very dangerous road. Never know when you come up over that hill and there is a turn IMMEDIATELY... and then there is grandma... or worse... a tractor! Anyways... WV kicks SE OH ass by far!

I am trying to work in one more trip this year. Probably in November to southern IN or maybe northern KY... we'll have to see how work goes. I might be on 12 hours then and weekend. Would actually be nice to get some money.

Yeah! Wet leaves were everywhere that weekend. If it was dry the leaves wouldnt have been a factor at all.
