Question Cell Phones??? Who has what?

Ok I currently have sprint, and I'm thinking of changing. I used to have nextel but their phones were crap. Have the quality of their phones changed? Also who has what service. I know lots of people with nextel. How good is Verizon, and who gets coverage all over michigan... Thanks for any help..

I have a Nokia and love it. I used to have a Motorola but hated it. Too many buttons, too many options and too many things I didn't use on it. For service, I use Cingular. I've had pretty good luck with them....no one is 100%....but I get coverage where some people don't.

I have had cingular for the last 6 years or so and out of all my friends with other services I seem to have the least amount of issues. As for phones, I give to Nokia as well, tho I currently have a Motorola Razr. My Nokia's lived through everything (water, dropping it etc)...but it didn't survive falling out of my jacket pocket somewhere on 696 or 94 on my way to Judge's last summer. The Razr however is the best phone I've ever had as far as being able to hear people on the other end. I haven't had the 'common' Razr issues others talk about either.

I have Verizon.. and LOVE IT.. so far my only dead area is going through Marlett and going through Mayville... I travel alot and get good service both in state and out...

only problem I have with mine is with text messages and pic sending.. being in this area the towers aren't all up to date (they belong to a local provider and they're too cheap to update them - verizon just rents the towers use from them) and dont' handle those services too well...

Two Tomato Cans and a String.
Voices are a little muffled and its hard to get coast to coast reception but you always hear something if you put it close enough to your ear.
of course my god daughter swears by her barbie phone and she has cool ring tones

I can't speak to service providers in your area, but spicerke and I recently changed to Cingular and got new phones. She got the Motorola SLVR L7 and loves it so far. Phone, mp3 player, camera, etc. I got the Samsung SGH D807. The more I learn about it the more I like it. We'll see how the phones fare in a few months/years.

My favorite phone that I've had besides this one (so far) was the i90c's we had with Nextel. If Nextel's customer service were not a festering pile of shit we'd probably still be with them. I heard from many though that Nextel is more interested in businesses, not personal accounts. Their customer service certainly confirmed that for us. We had left sprint to go to Nextel, and now that they are together I hope the whole thing tanks, they'll never see another dime of my money. It's a pity too, as I really liked their phones and never had an issue with dropped calls or coverage.

T-mobile was a joke too, we had them after Nextel. They may be good in really big cities, but their network overall sucks ass. I spent more time on Cingular's network than t-mobiles. Verizon was considered (mostly because them and Cingular were the only two we hadn't tried), but Cingular had the phones we wanted and a little bit better deal to. Plus their coverage looked better for the areas we frequent.

To find the current phones we have I did some research and found cnet's reviews to be helpful. I used them to narrow down the search and once I identified a few I liked I just went to google and specifically looked for what people didn't like about them.

The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all of fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomanical, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully. - Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion

+1 for cingular

+1 for the razr

ive had cingular for almost 5 years, works pretty much everywhere that people inhibit, a few bad spots but who doesnt have some. i was out chasing a deer on some orv trails up north in my truck, just north of waters, and i was getting pretty good reception. but for example, on the desolate midpart of mancelona rd between mancelona and old 27 i lose service for a few minutes, but theres like 1 person that lives on that whole stretch and they probably havent heard of color television, let alone cellphones.
